D Mani - Sales Rep who doesn't go by his real name Beware Con-Artist, Fraud, Don't let them into your bank account - they'll suck you dry. Cancel ASAP much cheaper

I was had by D. Mani (not full name) and Appstar. They didn't care that the rep promised low rates - mentioned only $45 yearly fee. Never mentioned a statement fee, never mentioned a minimum monthly fee. That he had me sign a contract he never let me look at and took it with him until he came back with a programed machined. I asked if they were affiliated with Fifth Third Bank and he assured me they weren't. I explained to them how much I hated them and did not want to do business with them. At the bottom of the contract it was written Fifth Third Bank.

I called and called the rep and he did not return my calls. There were 4 of us in BNI that he did this to. We were told that he took a personal leave of absence.

I asked for a form to fill out and cancel my services and that I would be more than happy to return their machine. No response to this except for me to write them a letter to cancel. Yeah right, I'm going to do that and send it to the company and who knows who will get it if anyone at all. I also want to make sure the machine goes back to the right place and someone from the company signs for it.

I am working with the BBB to resolve the issue. With all the complaints with the BBB and on the internet I can't believe that the BBB gives them a A rating. I know that if I pay $500 I can be a member of the BBB also.???

While going through the BBB Appstar sent me a collection letter and tried to pull an extra $95 out of my account for my yearly fee which was suppose to be $45. The letter was for $571.90. Is this company for real? Why isn't anyone doing anything about this.

My advice to you is close your bank account immediately. Cancel with them. Let them bill you for the cancellation fee and pay them at your leisure. Make sure you get a signature for everything you send to them. Another thing they don't tell you is that you will be billed $125 in the near future for the PCI compliance.
