Fairbanks Capital AKA Equicredit Escrow amount added into loan for insurance but never refunded. Ripoff!

In 2001 this company or so they call themselves, add 1019.00 in escrow for insurance they claimed I did not have.

I spent all of 2001 and half of faxings no less than 3 or 4 times a week and calling to get it straightened out and could not get anywhere. No faxes back, no phone and especially no satisfaction. I had the same insurance company since 1987 and had never been cancelled. They had all the proof they needed.

A few months ago we refinanced and in the first payoff this amount was no where to be found. After we signed everything and thought we were good, they sent another payoff that included this.

If we had waited and got this straightened out or I should say try to once again, we would have lost the interest rate we were quoted and would have cost us a lot of money.

I called the company and finally spoke to someone that could tell me what this was and how to correct it once again. They claimed it was their error and if my insurance company would call, they would correct it and send a refund immediately. That was 45-50 days ago. After calling several more times and receiving many different answers once again.

I have since contacted an attorney to try and help. This company is the biggest rip off I have ever seen and someone needs to investigate and put them out of business.

If I knew where to start by asking that they be investigated I would begin the crusade. I am tired of fighting what seems to be an endless battle.
