Scammed and Humiliated

On several occasions, Mr. T. Bell (this was the name that was given) tried contacting me at my old phone number where my parents still reside. On each occasion my father told them that I no longer lived at this phone number and he would give me his name and number. After several calls, my father politely asked him not to call again. He indicated to my father that he was trying to collect a debt (which I understand he cannot share with anyone other than me).

He called again last night and told my father that it was obvious he had no control over his daughter paying her debts (BTW. I am old enough that I have kids of my own) and his next step was to contact "The Emerson's". When my dad asked who The Emerson's were, he stated that it was my dad's neighbors and he was going to let them know that his daughter does not pay her bills. I do not know what debt they are even calling in reference to, but my father asked them not to call anymore on many occasions and they continue calling several times a week.

This is a violation of my privacy, as well as my parents and it is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I have no debt that has not been paid or is not currently paid on time. Every bill I have is current and for someone to humiliate and insult someone like that is beyond the realm of my understanding. I have reported this company to the BBB, the FTC, the Attorney General in Illinois and the Attorney General in Texas.
