Short pay refi company is fraud

I was referred to this company by my attourney. Thinking that this company is legit we sent the $1595 cashiers check and waited for loan approval.

We were so called approved by them to get a short pay refi. We were told they were contacting our bank to get them to take the payoff. Then we get notified that they got shut down by the department of finance.

Now how do we get our money back. There numbers dont work and they dont respond. Do not give any company money to do any loan mod or short pay...
