After a number of years of silence, I had a call from Harold Stuart of Phoenix Securities Corporation about a carving I had been ripped off from Nedalia. I have the carving in my possesion and Harold informed me that after a prolonged time of Nedalia going through liquidation that his business was now dealing with the re-selling and liquidation of their assets.
He stated that my carving was worth, $337k (amazing) and that it was one of a set of 3, he had a buyer and had been working on a contract for 6-months on setting up this deal. Well I asked a number of questions and he glossed over most answers - telling me his business was the largest in the market at doing this, they did not solicite for new clients, that they traded with the 3 largest diamond brokers in the World, they had shares in a mine in Ivory Coast, etc etc. Well all sounded great, but then the bomb... To sell I would need to deposite $11.7k in a bank in Costa Rica for a 3% guarantee bond. Now I stated I had never paid a deposit for anything in my life, I couldnt afford it, didnt want to do it and would not pay a company I had never heard of that amount of money. He went away and said he would call me back.
In the mean time I did some research, they had no website, no mention on google, on google maps the address was in a residential area, I spoke with Cathy McCrory at the RMCP and she said it sounded like a "recovery scam" - who would buy a company with no assets, why the bahamas, etc etc.
Next day Harold called back, I gave him insight into my research and he said I should trust him, he was a god fearing man, he was a family man, he would never rip me off, he invests in it himself... Blah blah blah... He then said he would give me a discount, money given from his own personal account which he invested from... But he only had $4.2k, meaning I would have to pay the remaining $7k...
I refused and to date still at... The main points to note are the name on the accoutant is the same as others on this ri-off - "Las Empresas de Erling E Isable Ltde"
Good luck people, stay strong... Dont let these people take another penny
