Ripoff collection agency with unprofessional conduct

GC Services Limited Partnership is contracted by American Express. Our AmEx account went into collection and we received duplicate printed statements on consecutive days and they called my husband at work on a continual basis.

GC Services contacted my husband at work and actually spoke with him on 2 occasions. During those conversations, the collection rep seemed nice, but was badgering my husband into solutions.

As the manager of household accounts, I contacted GC Services and changed our contact information. After speaking with three different people—one woman tried to take a message but acted like the call had a bad signal, a man referred me to someone else, that someone took my message&my call was finally returned.

Twenty minutes later, the collection rep hung up on me! During our 20 minutes phone conversation, he told me that my husband didn't get the message that he was trying to give him in the 2 previous phone conversations. He told us to take out a loan to pay off the debt. I was trying to be polite and explain to him our situation, I never raised my voice or spoke rudely to the rep. However, when I told him the payment options that he was advising us to pursue were not options that we chose to take, he told me that I was stupid!

He continued to berate me during the conversation. I stood my ground and told him that my husband and I had made the decision to get out of debt without taking out a loan to pay off existing debt. His frustration escalated and his words grew extremely rude. He told me that we were making a poor decision. He then hung up on me.

He has called everyday since that time. And when I answer the phone, he hangs up on me when he hears my voice.
