Rate Raised to 28.24% After One Late Payment in June

We were late on a payment in June. Our interest rate was 11.65%.

In July they increased my interest rate to 28.24%, and because the interest charges and my balance put us over the limit, they assessed an over-limit charge.

When we called the company, their response was, "We can do whatever we like because you live in California." We canceled the card, but right now we are stuck with the interest rate, which has more than doubled our monthly payments.
