Fraudulent Billing and Deceptive Practices

Over a year ago I requested this company's "free" credit report, but I did NOT sign up for their service.

Since I am in the military I have all of my finance accounts handled automatically so that I may make payments while on deployment. After returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom I had to report a glitch with my credit card (which I had not used in over a year) and discovered a $79.95 charge from a company called "CIC Credit Monitor Service".

Thinking it was something the credit company had erroneaously signed me up for I did a little bit of digging and found out that, like many of you, I was being charged a monthly fee without my consent or knowledge. Needless to say, I called in an immediate cancellation and was assured by CIC that my service with them would be stopped. Time will tell. I am now stuck with the fact that they have been debiting my account monthly for nearly a year (during most of which I was deployed overseas).

I am looking for a resolution to this highly unacceptable situation.
