Misrepresentation, scam, loan modification

US Loan Assistance Center, California has CLOSED IT'S DOORS! WITHOUT ever telling their customers that this was going to happen. I wrote an email to these people and they responded the same day stating that everything at our "court appointed" mediation would be fine if we just bring their contract in to show that they are working on modifying our loan. Well the mortgage company stated they hadn't heard a thing from them and have no idea who they are AND are they allowed to represent us in the state? So I try to call them... No answer, I send an email today 1/4/10, no reply, I look up their website and I see US Loan Assistance Center-CLOSING ITS DOORS. I checked up on these people every which way but loose before we decided to use them and there wasn't anything via the internet or the R.O.R. That I came across that they were bad news. Now barely 2 months they're closing??? Now they state that the State of California says they cannot collect advanced payments and customers with existing files will continue to receive support; via their call center. HA! When someone picks up they hang up. They are supposed to give the money back if the customer contracted with them after October 11. Well when will that money be seen? Never. I'm guessing. I am writing to the Att. General in California and Connecticut the state in which I live. I'm so sick of greedy scam artists taking advantage of honest people trying to do the right thing... Oh and BTW nooooooooo Home EQ our mortgage company would not modify with us and we were told that the people who do these loan modifications have a way better chance of getting the modification done. Thing is... We're not stupid people but we sure seem like it now. Do not i repeat do not have anyone other than yourself attempt to modify your loan especially when asking for money upfront. Your desperation and wanting to do the right thing is their shark bait. Don't bite. I believe in Karma and I think that all of these greedy bastards that are making money off foreclosures and getting fat bank accounts, along with the banks, will end up with NOTHING in the end of it all. So for now, we must let the chips fall as they may. THANKS USLAC for absolutely NOTHING!
