I had an account with Capitol One. I got past due in my payments and went to a Credit Counselor. She told me I did not need their help but to call Capitol One and ask for the hardship program which I did. They ceased my late payment fees and for a short time I payed them as promised. I then ran into some money, called Capitol One at which time they informed me that I could pay off the amount in a Settlement. (paying the account off, but not in full) and that it would still show on my credit report but would be classified as paid, but not in full. And the account would be closed. The total amount due was roughly 1200.00 and my settlement payment was 900.00 some dollars. I paid this off in September of 07. The account manager I spoke with on the phone told me I needed to send a money order in, which I did. I did not hear from them for months, until March of 08 in which they started billing me again. I have spoken to anyone and everyone at the agency and the excuse they gave me for billing me again was because in paying the "settlement payment" I broke my hardship payment agreement!!! Eventually it went to collections and I've actually had one collection agency call and tell me I am not the first person they have done this too. Now I have Global Corp. Calling me at work. I can not recieve personnel phone calls at work and have told them this. This continue to harrass me here at my place of business. I have given them my home phone number but they refuse to call my place of residence only my place of employment. They are very rude on the phone and I am indeed afraid of getting fired because of their hostility. Please take some sort of action and let them know these phone calls can not and will not be tolerated anymore. Thank you for your time.
