Hometown America / MH Financial Services Worst possible place to buy a home!

I've lived in the Countryside Village community in the Denver, CO, area for almost three and a half years. But in the past two years this community has gone downhill fast. It used to be a nearly crime free area, but they've been letting people move in here that shouldn't even live in the United States to begin with. Needless to say the crime here as increased by over 300%.

So, with a job offer from Texas available to me, I decided to sell my home in the community. But, as it turns out, Hometown America has so many rules that they make it nearly impossible to sell. First, they require that everyone that would be willing to buy your home find their own financing. Excuse me, but if you're selling homes in the community and providing financing, why aren't you doing that for brokered homes too? Next, they charge a 10% commission on the sales of any homes. That's absurd!

So I thought about just moving my home to Texas. Yeah, it's expensive to do that but I figured that would be better than just letting it go into foreclosure. Surprise again! You're not allowed to move a home out of the community unless you first pay off the loan. That's one of the pieces of fine print that I missed when I signed the original 50 page agreement.

So do yourself a favour, stay away from any Hometown America community! You'll save yourself a hell of a lot of headaches.
