APS NORTHWEST LLC, ME TOO They took my money for loan modification and don't follow through — now out of biz

I dealt with Jeff Withycomb and Patti Harris. After having them referred to me by a friend who said they were legit I paid them $2,000 in Febuary. The deal was that if I didn't get the modification I would get back all but $200. After delays on my end of getting needed paperwork the package was submitted this summer and shortly their after Jeff said 'good luck and we're out of business." They then dropped the ball on follow-up and I was just informed that the loan modification didn't get approved.
I now read about them here in Ripoff report and did some digging. Home Modifier was a dba of APS Northwest LLC, the Company was opened in 10/08 and closed in 3/09 according to Washington State Revenue records! Address listed is 12810 E Nora Ave Ste A Spokane Valley, WA 99216-1045. The Secretary of State shows the officers as: — Smith, Travis 23921 E 1st Ave LIBERTY LAKE, WA — Paulsen, Clint 5510 E Marina Ct POST FALLS, ID — ALLEN, RANDY 11602 NW Newman Lake Dr NEWMAN LAKE, WA.
When I did a Goggle on the phone numbers I found other web sites, one www.2YearPurchase.com has another firm listed owning the site as Charter Financials Services INC, anohter Washington state firm which has been defunct for about 10 years. They get a separate hit on usacomplaints.com making large promises.
They were not licensed to do what they said they were going to do in California and I'm mailing a demand today.
