Todd Goodman contacted me and said they could help us with a loan modification and said they could get us on with a payment no larger then $500 to include tax and insurance escrow. We paid them $2590 and filled out the necessary paperwork and everything was fine, or so I thought. I started getting suspicious when the Bank was contacting me for the same paperwork that I gave CAG. Then in Jan we received a foreclosure summons. When I called CAG they told me to ignore the summons and that they were working with our lender for a modification. They even went as far as to tell me that the lender is trying to scare us. Had we had not answered the summons we would have lost our house. After talking with an attorney i found out that CAG was not licensed to handle loan modifications as they are not licensed in the State of Wisconsin. And according to Wisconsin State Statutes 846.45 Regulation of Foreclosure Consultants, you need to be licensed in the State of Wisconsin to be able to perform any type of loan modification service. So i sent them letters, emails, and faxes attesting to this. I then get a call from Brian Mitchell the office manager and he stated that our loan modification was going to go through any day now. The loan modification was held up. Ultimately they took up front funds for services they were not legally or able to provide. They have not refunded our money and any offers we received from the bank were on account of the paperwork we sent and provided them with copies. We still have not obtained a suitable modification. The only offer we received was on account of all paperwork we submitted and obtained to to our diligence and persistence, which we turned down as it wasn't a modification at all. We will not rest until they are held accountable.
