NSF fees are the new bailout for B of A

So my boyfriend started his bank January of this year and we had no issues with it till we started using the debit card more offten. I noticed that my balance would shift around and I got onto my online banking and noticed that there was an overdraft fee. I called the bank and asked what it was for I had a negative of $32 I do belive and they said I had made a purchas with NSF and first of all I was supposed to have overdraft protection. But that didnt kick in I had verbal comfrimation that if I was short money my card would not work. However I asked if the deposit I made had gone through yet and they said it was made after the Overdraft. I assured them I went to the bank on my way to the mall and there should still be about 40 in my account. After making the lady read me off the time stamp on my deposit and on my purchuse go figure it was a comuter error so they dropped that charge.
A few months had passed and we had a few issues but nothing they would fix after a few yelling matches.
