HSBC was sent a courteous, gracious, and honest letter detailing my deteriorating health issues, which has forced me to live on $807 per month Social Security disability income with no prospects for additional income. They were told that I am presently pursuing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, and told that any harrassment on their part would be in violation of the Fair Debts Collection Practices Act.
Yet they completely disregarded that letter (and consequently the law) and have called an average of eight times per day, beginning in the early morning! I had to turn my phone ringer off because my sleep was being interrupted and my neurological condition was being exacerbated by their callousness, rudeness, and plain viciousness. (Often the phone calls would come in twos, with only three to five minute intervals between them!) Never, ever, under any circumstances deal with these monsters!!!
