Short Term Personal Loan my Butt

I was contacted by a gentlemen from Birchmount Financial Services. His name is Derek Evans. I am trying to get a short term loan and filled out some information online.
He told me I had been approved for a $5000.00 loan. But because of my credit I would have to send a collateral security payment. 5 payments up from at $160.00 each came to a total of $800.00 He told me to send it out Western Union to a women who is there A/R for the company that is going to loan me the money. Also send the money to Canada.

To send the money go to a Walmart and fill out the red form. There will be a service fee but we will reimburse you back that feel. Call me with the refernce number so I can have her go pick it up and then I will call you the next day with all the information that you need.

I started asking questions and did some research. The phone number is not listed. The company is not listed. When they call you the number doesn't appear on the caller id. I had check with the BBB and there is nothing on the company. I called D & B and there is nothing on this company. Any company would have a D & B number.

Derek was telling me that the company has been in busy for over 10 years. They have been in busy for ten years with no D & B number. Tax id number. Nothing. Come on.

He even faxed me over the loan papers and documents. Everything looked right. I cancelled the money. Tried to contact him but no response.

Beware this company is not really and any company that is going to give you a loan would not ask for money up front and then send it to Canada. Just doesn't happen.
Better to try and deal with local companies. At least this way you are person to person.
