Did nothing but hurt our home loan and took our money Westminster California

Back in January of my husband and I were in desperate need of help refinancing our house. We were like the millions of people locked in a horrible loan that the banks would help (this is before the new government programs). We went through the regular routes and absolutely no one would help us. We were contacted by Arase Law Firm who said they could help and stated that they were legal counsel and not a lender or broker but could go to the bank and by appearing to the bank as legal counsel they could negotiate on our behalf but there was a fee for this service of $2500. We thought it sounded like our last hope and gave them the money only to find almost 8 months later, nothing has happened and we are now being harassed by them.

They never helped us and have only hurt us by continuing to go to the bank and mess with our loans. The worst part isn't that we are out $2500 but that they mucked up our loan so much with the bank that we don't know if we'll ever be free to fix it? They are absolutely horrible people who are taking advantage of people in horrible situations.
