Credit Card Interest Rate Hike

Nowadays I received a notice from Citibank that my two charge cards rates of interest increases to 29.99%. This increase is actually increasing my present price. I've been a Citibank client for 14 years and also have never been overdue on my records. After I named to talk to a to ask why it was occurring I had been informed that it's a table raise. They stated they've to improve their pricing because of the financial atmosphere also it had nothing related to something I did so. Obviously I'm totally surprised and actually don't understand what to complete. I've a substantial stability on my card and dont wish to opt-out of this program simply because they may shut my bill. That'll tarnish my credit history. Easily maintain the card my regular minimum funds are likely to be so large I dont understand basically will have the ability to manage spending it. I cant think a business that's almost 40% held from the national people because of the current financial bailout might handle its clients in this terrible way. Moreover, it's apparent that they're achieving this price rise today due to the new regulation that'll get into result in February excluding such interest increases. Why isnt there more outrage available?
