National Audit Defense Network
Bait and Switch ripoff, and a rip off "guarantee", also ripoff web site

Business & Finance

I was introduced to NADN (aka: National Audit Defense Network) by a radio infomercial promising $3,000.00 worth of added tax deductions that they would retrieve from LAST year's tax form. I'd always wondered if I was missing any deductions so I thought I'd try them beacause I had 30 days to find out if they'd make good on the offer.

I joined (for $400, $800 for two years) to let them review my taxes. When I found that I could not get my taxes done in the 30 day limit I applied for a refund. I was immediately called by a high-power salesman who offeder me a refund of my second year membership (whew!) and added that I should send in the two years previous to that since he assured me they would find $3,000 worth of new deductions in those years. I thought that was a great idea so I took their challenge. He also offered to send me their "written" guarantee as long as I stayed a member. I agreed.

The written "guarantee" was not what Id been offered either by the radio infomercial or the salesman, but said "if after following our tax saving advice I didnt accrue $3,000 in added deductions in the NEXT 12 months"... I could get my money back. I was to "follow the recommendations that are individually designed fo me". My taxes were yet to be reviewed so I gave them the benefit of the doubt (dumby) and let them review my taxes. My review concluded that I was doing a great job and they could find no further deductions (what a surprise).
I wrote them a letter reminding them of their promise to find the added deductions and that that ws the only reason I had joined. I told them that if I were ever to set up a home-based business, their advice would be great but I was in to position to do so now, nor had I ever intended to. No reply was ever given so I waited for their "tax saving advice and recommendations individually designed for me" none ever came.

After a year of waiting for that, "individually designed advise" I sent them the last year's taxes showing no such additional deduction. Their tax advisors agreed there was none.

After calling several times I finally got through to a man who told me that I hadnt fulfilled my part of the bargain by not filling out a homed busianess tax form. I told him, I dont have a home based business, nor was I intending to start one, nor does the guarantee state I need one. He said that implicite within the "guarantee" was the need to follow their advise to start one or add to an existing business. That had nothing to do with why Id signed up to begin with, nor did I recieve any individually tailored advice.

I have been baited and switched, as well as sold a deceptively written "guarantee" and a membership to nothing that involved no individually designed recommendations. They are liars and crooks.

The $10,000, (or I mean the $2500 and a $7500 promisory note)"Website for the Blind" scam will have to wait, thank God I didn't buy that!!
