Bad customer service and I was not able to get a free report

Go Free Credit is a scam

Today I was on cnn.com and found a link for a free credit report. Its website is gofreecredit.com.

I put in my personal information including my credit card number. The website would not accept my credit card number and directed me to call a customer service representative.

I called the number listed and got transferred to a technical support rep. She did not clearly say her name, so I asked. Daniela she said reluctantly. She took my personal information again and put me on a silent hold for over three minutes. When she got back, she seemed like everything was ok until I asked if they were going to charge my card after seven days. She said yes, unless I cancel. I said ok, (thinking but not saying I was going to cancel the day I get the report). Then all of a sudden the call was disconnected.

I figured maybe something happened so I called back and someone took all my info again, then transferred me to technical support. The same voice answered and still did not clearly say her name, so I asked. She then hung up on me! Again! Now I know that she did not want to help me.

I called the number again and before I gave them any info, I requested to speak with the supervisor of technical support. The rep said no problem and transferred me to a supervisor, I thought.

Some disgruntled rep picked up after a three minute hold. He said, Thanks for calling customer service this is??? How can I help you? I asked his name again and he silently responded with, Vince. I asked his employee ID number and he reluctantly gave me 663. I asked him if he was the supervisor and he said yes. I told him my story then he started talking over me. (Keep in mind that I am a very composed person and I don't freak out like some people do. I have also worked in call centers for over five years now and I know the way they work).

I waited for him to finish telling me that he knows Daniela personally, and that he thinks she wouldn't hang up on someone like that. I told him, number one don't ever talk over me again, number two don't involve me in your personal matters with your co-worker. You should be a professional and not bring personal relationships into this. Number three, I want to speak with your supervisor!

Vince then said ok, and put me on hold for about three minutes. He picked up again and was not apologetic at all. He just said that they were not able to process my card, like I was an idiot that couldn't understand what he was telling me. I told him that I didn't want there product anymore, that I requested to speak with his supervisor! Vince said ok, well I'm going to have to put you on hold.

After holding for about four minutes Raphael answered. I asked him if he was the supervisor's supervisor, he said yes. I told him the whole story and he claimed that he was going to get to the bottom of this, (who knows). He was not able to take my credit info either because there is an outsourced biller that handles the payments.

All in all this was a waste of time. Even though I never got my free report, who knows if they will still bill me, (I'm sure they will). At least I have names and such to prove my situation.
