Worldcom Wireless
Is a dishonest & fraudulent ripoff

Shops, Products, Services

I bought a phone for my boyfriend for Valentine's day, using Worldcom Service. The bills were coming in at $450 per month. I was not given a detailed statement - had to pay an extra 99 cents for detail. All calls turned out to be billable even though I was supposed to have 400 minutes, plus free nights and weekends. The statement said bold print was for free minutes - there was no bold print. I canceled the account but my boyfriend still wanted the line.

I called back within two minutes and could not get the same number, so they opened a new number. It was never activated. I asked for a supervisor and was told that I could speak to one but they would only say I had to pay the bill anyway. They switched me to technical support, so they said, but I was sent back to the main menu. Then a new customer service rep said I would have to call again and he would not switch me to technical support, so I asked to speak to a manager who told me no. I asked again and he hung up on me and never activated the account.

On 6/27 I got another bill for $456.28. It showed two accounts, with two access fees and fees on top of fees. The bill was too complicated to follow. All I know is I never activated the account that they were billing me for and I never got a bill of less than $450.00 which is totally absurd - then they charge another 99 cents for detail.

There is no phone number for customer service on their bill. You are on hold forever. I was given two confirmation numbers and spoke with an operator named Mondai who confirmed twice that the account would be credited $456.28 and again I asked if her supervisor approved of this. She said yes and asked if she could help me any further. I said no, thank you and hung up. One month later, new bill, no credit, and add another $279 for deactivation of an account that was never activated, and another monthly charge for no calls because I don't even have the phone.

I called again tonight. First guy, Brian said hold on while he researched it then I got a recording saying thank you for calling Worldcom Wireless - goodbye. Disconnected.

I called back, got another person, Amy Snotty, had to explain the whole thing again and she told me the confirmation credits I had gotten were denied. I asked for a supervisor, she gave me Crystal and of course she hung up on me as well. I give up, but I will never pay this bill.

My mother has WorldCom service and every month they say you're behind one month. You make two payments and next month, you're behind again. When she asks how come she made 7 payments in 7 months and you're still behind, they say oh, it must overlap or something was pro-rated. You can't win - but they are definitely a rip-off company. Thank you, George Bush!
