Wells Fargo Bank
Claims that they have lost record of my Grandchildren's 100,000 dollar CD

Business & Finance

In 1997 I purchased a 100,000 dollar CD at a note rate of 4.5% in the names of my two grandchildren, for their college education. Recently I contacted the local branch in Reno Nevada, they advised that since it was so old I should contact their main office in San Francisco, of which I did. They advised that they had escheated the funds to the Nevada State Treasurer. Upon contacting Nevada State Treasurer, they said Wells Fargo had not. Upon contacting Wells Fargo again, they referred me to unclaimed property. Tom in unclaimed property said he could not locate it and asked to fax a copy of the original, of which I did. The process has been ongoing now for two months, have need heard from anyone. The funds were intended for my Grandkid's education. My grandson is in his second year of college, and could use his money now.
