Armed Forces Bank
Savings Account Theft

Business & Finance

Attention all Recruits and Servicemembers thinking about signing up with Armed Forces Bank. DON'T DO IT.

Most People believe that you can open up a savings account, put some money in it and let it grow. This is not the case with Armed Forces Bank. If you leave your account to collect interest only they will charge a service charge until the balance in GONE. They call it a dormant account service fee. It's not good enough that they have your money. Evidently the "fine Print" states that you need to be withdrawing or crediting the account on a continual basis.

Another thing: As a new recruit we were promised a "Recruit Checking and Savings Account" that gains 2% apr for the life of the account. Evidently that's a bunch of BS because they're only paying. 75% now on that same account.

These vampires sucked my account dry. For those looking for a decent bank. Try USAA or possibly Navy Federal.
