Xoom Corporation Global Money Transfer REMITTANCE HAS NOT REACHED RECIPIENT EVEN AFTER A WEEK! Refusing to refund SERVICE CHARGES when reversal was requested

I sent a bank-to-bank money remittance on Sunday, May 3 from Toronto through Xoom, thinking that it works like a Western Union and will get the money faster than a regular door-to-door remittance company. We were facing an emergency as it was for my brother who had gone back home to the Philippines to care for my mom who is terminally ill. Money fell short and was badly required for her medical checks, payment of caregivers, etc. Xoom tracking numbers posted the following notice on email:

May 4 - 12:18am - Xoom Processing
May 4 - 12:19 - Payment Processing
May 4 - 12:19 - Payment Verified
May 4 - 12:23 - Transfer in Progress
May 4 - 1:00 - Deposit in Progress
May 8 - 11:00 - Confirmation in Progress

Its now Friday, May 8 (Eastern Time Zone) and still the transfer has not reached the bank. Xoom is stating the Remittance name is different from the Bank Acct owner name since the bank acct has a middle name. My brother and I have called Xoom more than 4 times to explain that this is indeed the same person, and we have other details that can corroborate this fact (like home address, etc). We have emailed them almost half a dozen times to make it official and in their records and even spoke to their Agent Manager MARU FELIX, but was only given tweetum pleasantries over the phone without resolving anything. They said its now the weekend there and they will let me know on Monday, May 11 OF THEIR PROGRESS. I asked if they can have the transaction reversed, and they said they can only refund the money being remitted BUT NOT THE SERVICE CHARGE!

STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS! You're better off sending your money/cheque by snail mail!
