Took a deposit for a remodification loan on my mortgage with money back guarantee. No refund

Hope Now Foundation took my information for a home loan modification with a $195.00 deposit and a guarantee if there was no success, my deposit would be refunded. They gave me the runaround for about a month and then I notified the Attorney Generals office they claimed to have mailed a check and even photo copied it. Of course they never sent me ANY money. After they lied to our Attorney Generals office, they sent me a letter telling me that they would have to review my status for refund. They stopped communicating with Attorney General and myself. They lure you in with a false sense of Hope in a bad situation and run with your money. I researched them online before the deposit and they are members of Florida BBB, FAMB, NAMB, Equal Housing Opportunity. Even though times are bad, I have learned to never trust help people claim to make available.
