Bank Midwest
Puts money in account only to snatch it back and charge nsf fees

Business & Finance

I have a business bank account as well as a personal account with Bank Midwest, and my wife also has a personal account as well there. We had done business with this bank for about a year with no problems until one day, my wife checked her account and there was an extra $200.00 there. So we called the bank to verify how it was made, and it it was a legitimate deposit, and if we could use the money, and specifically if that money would be taken away by the bank at a later time causing NSF fees if we were to draw from it. The representative at the bank told us that it was indeed a legitimate deposit, not a bank error, and insured us that we could use that money with no penalties.

We waited 2 days, then had to make some purchases. After we had purchased around a hundred dollars with our bank card, we went to wallmart to purchase some food, and it was declined. We called the bank, and they told us that there was a $200.00 deposit that couldn't be verified as being a legitimate transaction, and so they arbitrarily took it out, causing a domino effect of NSF fees to be posted. We went to the bank, and complained, and they told us that if we did not have a deposit receipt, there was "nothing they could do". And refused to reverse the NSF fees.

So you see, it is so important for this bank to make money, that they will use deception to accomplish their goal of charging NSF fees. Now, if this was an honest bank, they would have reversed the fees. If it was not their intention to rip us off, they would have admitted to their mistake, (which is not a mistake anymore, it has turned into a boldface lie) and reversed the NSF fees at a minimum.

I have closed my accounts with them, and so has my wife, and I suggest that nobody do business with this bank. You are warned.
