Loan Mediate
Promised to modify my loan, took my $800, then did nothing!

I contacted a "nice" woman named Carolyn Hill from Loan Mediate during the third week of January. I was told that if I paid $2500, Loan Mediate would work on my behalf to modify the terms of my mortgage. The company supposedly has attorneys that negotiate with lenders. I was assured by Ms. Hill that I would receive an answer in 2-3 weeks, 4 weeks maximum. The initial "installment" was $800, which I promptly sent in. I also gathered 40-50 pages of required documentation and promptly faxed them in. I followed up weekly with Ms. Hill and was told that everything is in order.
After three weeks went by, I asked to speak with my negotiator to determine what the status of my loan was. I was put on the phone with someone named "Dekeita" who could barely speak English. She told me in her own words "Don't nobody know what's goin on". This is my negotiator??? I then expressed my concern to the manager: Mr. Felix Katz. How was Ms. Dekeita possibly going to represent my case when she could barely speak the English language? Ms. Hill, by the way, was very well spoken. She represents the company and collects (steals) the homeowners' money. Mr. Katz claimed that everything was in order and that my package had been submitted to my lender during the last week of January. I asked to be assigned to a new negotiator. Mr. Katz said that the new negotiator would be contacting me within a few days. No contact was made.
Four weeks had passed, and I decided to contact my lender directly on February 26. I spoke with a supervisor who had the authority to check the status of requests for loan modifications. Ms. Barbara Davis, from my lending institution, informed me that nothing was ever sent in!!! I contacted Laon Mediate via e-mail during the last week of February and expressed my concern. I asked to have my $800 refunded. I received no response, and asked again, via e-mail. Again, I was ignored. This company is a scam!!!
