I received a letter of instructions and a check for $2650.00 in the mail from Global Business and Evaluation Marketing Services. The instructions were to deposit the check into my account and call them so they could "activate" it.

Once that was done I was to spend up to $100.00 at Walmart and up to $100. At JCPenny then fill in the evaluation form on the service I received at each store and fax it to the number listed on the letter along with copies of my receipts from each store.

Then I was to send a moneygram for the amount of $2200.00 to a Vicky in Canada, and fax that receipt as well.

I did all this according to the letter and was informed that I would receive a phone call from the company verifying my employment the next day and if I hadn't received a call by 3:00 to call them. The call never came so I called and was told that I a full time job as a "secret shopper" was available if I wanted it, all I had to do was send an additional $500.00 to the same person I sent the $2200.00 to for "insurance" purposes.

At that point I began to get suspicous and told the person that I did not have an extra $500 to send them. I thanked him for his time and told him that I would seek employment elsewhere.

The next day, I went to the bank to make a deposit and discovered that the $2650.00 check that the company had sent me that I deposited in my account had been cancelled!

Furious, I called the number on the letter and spoke to the man who confirmed that the check had been deactivated because I did not send him and additional $500.00. I asked him for his name and to speak to his supervisor. He hung up on me and when I called back I got an answering machine.
