Savings deposit return run around

I had read these other complaints about FNBM, and who would of thought I would be writting one now as well!

I closed my account with them on March 21. I sent in all of my balance, and was told that my savings account balance would be returned to me in 7 to 21 days.

First, they charged my finance charges on my balance due, since they didn't post my final payment when they received it.

Second, I find out that they could of just taken my balance due out of my savings, and returned the difference to me. So now, my money has been sent to them and I am having a hell of a time getting it back!!!

I called on March 25, they said it would be sent out within a few days or so. I called on March 28, she said it wasn't due to be sent out until April 4. I called on April 2 and she said that the previous people I had spoken to didn't actually put my check through to be sent out because I didn't request my monies back.

I just called again today and spoke to a supervisor who now has informed me that the 21 days is for them to actually get the check ready to be mailed out. So she said she would put a "rush" on it so I don't have to call back anymore. She says it will be another 7 to 10 days before I get it back.

Luckily for me, their offices are not far from where I work and I will go there in person if that's what it takes for me to get back my monies that are owed to me.

I recommend to anyone who is trying to rebuild your credit, to do it through another company. I was with FNBM for over 5 years, never got a credit increase and really have not gotten anything form them in return except a headache.
