Ridiculous Overdraft Charges and the Referral Credit

I have had my account since September of '08. We didn't have any problems until a few months later I was charged $130.00 for being overdrawn $14.00. They refused to help me, told me to call an 800 number in which I did, after being on hold for almost an hour the third lady I spoke to was very hateful and said too bad. I admitted that was my fault because I scheduled a car payment a day too early, because my husbands check was being direct deposited the next day. BUT they make sure they run the biggest item thru first and say they do it for the customer, but in reality they do it to make money. They ran my husbands truck payment thru then a bunch of small debits, and if they had ran the debits then truck payment I would have only had one NSF charge.

The second time I was charged NSF I never went into overdraft, but was charged $70.00 because I had pending transactions that would put us into overdraft. My husbands paycheck was hitting our account at the same time. SO by the time those transactions cleared I would have had the money to cover them. Total ripoff! I called the bank and spoke to a man and he said he'd submit my request for a refund and call me back, may take up to 48 hours. He NEVER called back.

And last thing. They say if you refer someone and they open a new account, then you and them get a $25 gift card each. My parents referred us, we told them this when we opened the account, gave them their name and everything. Well... We still have gotten a gift card. It's been about six months.

I am going to close my account with as soon as possible. I don't understand why they would treat their customers so horribly, it's no wonder they are having a difficult time.
