Direct Merchants Bank
Deceitful, maniplates posting dates of money received and refuses payments resulting in added fees and discontinuation of debt programs trying to assist deceptive company

Business & Finance

In November we signed up with a debt consolidation company. Right from the get go DMB appeared unhappy about this, however DMB finally accepted their proposal only after multiple phone calls and coorespondence.

DMB received and accepted electronic payments in December and January. However they refuse to admit that they received the February payment. Quite the contrary, the debt consolidation company states payment was sent out to them on Jan. 24th but they returned it in error on Feb. 10th. (DMB's way of making payments look late and manipulating customers off the program along with adding the extra fees.) Resubmitted by the debt consolidation company the following day it was finally accepted and posted Feb. 24th.

With the due date being Feb 4th and the payment not received unitl the 24th we were dropped from the debt program that they depised in the beginning (which allows lower interest) and DMB refuses to put us back on until March regardless. This is their way of dealing with customers turning to others for help and making you pay the price. $289.00 added on for ONE payment they SAY they never received unitl the 24th. HOWEVER the consolidation company has proof (tracking number) they received it and it was returned. Appears to me that it was returned just so it would be late and those late fees could accumulate. Also why do the other electronic payments take 2 weeks to post?

When I called they have no explanation yet give me a number to call for debt management. Hmmmm, when you call, of course there is a recording that states they are no longer receiving incoming calls.

However one can correspond through their fax, mailing address, or email address. When you push the key for the mailing address they do not bother to repeat it and you end up calling at least 2 or three times to get the entire address and then when you hit the key for their email address you have to do the same and hope that you have the spelling right on it.

Anything to avoid a customer, Right?
