9% Fixed Becomes 30% Variable Due Date Accepted 9% fixed rate card received 17% climbing 30% card with variable due date to charge 49$ late fees

I got a card ofer in the mail. I wasnt loking for one but it was a good offer so I filled it out. It stated 0% for 15 months 9.89% fixed there after. I got the card and there was no mention of interest rate on the card or papers that accompanied it. Only after much digging calling and complaining I found the interest rate to be 17.99% and has since climbed to 30%. I have had the card for over a year now lways paid more than teh required payment (double) and paid it atleast a week early.

Last months statement I noticed a 49$ late fee. It appears that after a year and half of being due on the 7th of the month my due date change to the 31st of the previous month. I called and asked why my due date would change at such an obscure interval and let them know I had it setup to auto pay on or before its normal due date and to change the date I would need to be notified prior. They reluctantly removed the 49$ late fee but then applied the maximum penalty rate for paying a late payment.

This month I paid on the 31st so that I would not fall into that trap again only to find on my statement this time that it was due on the 7th like it was for the past 15 months and that my payment on the 31st was conscidered an additional payment and again late fee for not paying on time.

I again had to call and make threats to get this resolved. You would think that in a time when credit card companies are at an all time low of people able to and willing to pay on time that they would make major efforts to continue getting payments from good customers not find ways to force them into debt negotiation or no payment at all due to rediculuous interest rates and late fees 49$? 30%? Is there no control over card issuers anymore? America in debt... I wonder why?
