Thank G-d for this website... I almost lost $49.00

I got this offer from Consumer Credit about a "Platinum" card with a limit of $5000. If I signed the bottom of the report, there would be no credit check. This made me very suspicious about the offer to begin with. A $5000 credit limit and no credit check??? I just got my credit report cleaned up and have been getting credit card applications just about at a rate of one or two a week.

I read them all, checking the APR and fees because eventually I am going to need another card.
I'm looking all over the offer for what type of card it is... MasterCard, Visa, Discover card... What?
Since it didn't say... I thought it was probably for some "made up" credit card I wouldn't be able to get anyone to accept (Kinda like a Diner's Club).

I decided to do some research, I mean $5000 credit limit, 0% APR for first year and the yearly fee was low, $49. I came on the internet and went into my search engines on information about Consumer Credit. Luckily I came on this site full of complaints.

I can just imagine my dismay, waiting months with $49 tied up and finally getting a card and some stupid catalog to order from. I would have been on the next flight to Tampa ready to get my money back and to beat some sense into these scam artists!!!

My sugestion, since I got out of this before I sent any money is... For those of you who didn't... Get an attorney and file a class action suit.

Make them pay you back for not just your fees, interest, any money you had to spend sending back stupid welcome packs and certified mail costs. Perhaps as one of you said, in reference to not being able to use the card "all over"... To include that as a "false advertisement" part of the claim.

It has to be done, they need to be stopped... If not for principal. Its time "we" the little people took on these rip off artists and make them accountable.
This is comprable to buying a CD you wanted, paying $25 because it has a lot of songs on it you like and it claims all the songs are by the original stars. When you get it... All the songs SUCK and you look at the small print on the CD cover... The songs 'are' all sung by a group called "The Original Stars".
