Paying on credit cards via a collections agency

December i was contacted about my credit card debt, i had been in chapter13 and the judge had droped my case back in june of i had payed off 2 credit cards, i owed on 3 more, which a collection agency picked up, they said they worked for a lawfirm, i started an agrement plan with them at x amount for a 4 month plan, when teh 4 months were up they always offered me a settlement, bu told them right from the beginning that i would never be able to do, so then they would set up payments for another 4 months and each time we agreed on paying alittle more, in november of i asked if this payment could be lowered untill about april, they came unglued! My treatment was just terrible, i had payed them faithfully all that time, i was not refuseing to pay, i just wanted the agreement lower for a time, because i'm self employed and live in northern micihgan in a small town, my business is seasonal, i'm a hairstylist and alot of my customers go to florida for the winter, and the weather palys a big factor in the winter as well, my question is this, i have asked them to send me statements, they won't, they say they don't have acess to that, then when i had spoke with the lady in novemeber about lowering my payment she wanted to take on another grande to my debt, saying well what makes you think if you don't make your payment the intrest rate won't go up, each time they phone me it is a work, i told them not to phone me at work and they continue, now they are saying i only payed 2,220.00 dollars to this debt, and i have printouts of where they have signed and cashed my checks to the tune of 2,750.00. Does the intrest rate supose to stop after it goes to collections? I have no statement, they never have sent me a statement showing what my balance is, and it keeps changing, i told them i'm not paying another dime untill i have a statement. Now i don't trust these people, and i'm concerned that they keep tacting on more money when they feel like it, any info on what to do in this matter i would greatly appericate thank you linda
