Suggest's you lie to the IRS

Yesterday i went to the Jackson Hewitt tax preparation office in the Super Walmart in Kannapolis nc. The lady that did my taxes calculated i would be getting back $349.00 from federal. After all the fees, i would get back a little over 150.00. I mentioned to her about the Stimulus rebate check the irs gave to people this past year and heard that if you didnt get one, you may qualify for one on your taxes. She avoided the question by telling me there are alot of STRICT qualifications to getting one if you didnt last year but the system would let her know if i was due one. After running all the figures, she still came up with $349.00. Luckily my roomate was with me and told me to just do them for free on line at the IRS. Gov website which lets you e-file for free (freefile).. After coming home, going to the website to file my taxes, sure enough, it asked one question. "did you receive a stiumulus check last year", i entered know. It told me i was eligible for the rebate thus taking my federal refund to $649.00.. I filed them online. Today, i called the rep at jackson Hewitt to inform her i WAS in fact eligible for the rebate and it didnt ask me about alot of qualifications to getting it. At that point (to which i cannot understand her logic at ALL), she told me i should have entered in the field where it asked if i got a stimulus rebate check, i should have entered in yes, $300.00 even though i didnt get one, her logic was this: "if you tell the IRS you DID get one, they will see you DID "NOT" GET ONE and they will authorise you the rebate, but if you say you "did not" GET ONE, that will hold your refund up because the IRS will look into that. THAT MAKES NO SINCE WHAT SO EVER! She is blatantly suggesting i lie about getting a rebate check??? Past couple of years i havent been happy with jackson hewitt, it always seems there nothing but amateur high school/college students working there who do not have to first clue about legitimate tax calculating. I wished i had read all the reports on usacomplaints.com prior to filing. Save yourself some money and possible legalities, do them for free on line. Direct deposit can be in your bank account 8-10 days.
