Tropical storm wind damage to our roof

Tropical storm hit us in sept, this company refuses to admit there was no damage before this storm hit, even though they sent several people out to us, thye never told us there were any problems with our roof, we even had to have a wind mitagation done, our roofer says we need to replace our roof and it will cost over 8 thousand dollars, this company reuses to admit this damage was caused by this recent tropical storm, we already have several bedroom ceilings water stained as well as a newly laid rug that is damp from water seepage. This company took forever to send some one out, they told us to do the necessary repairs so no more water would seep in, now thye say we took photos showing the patch work, of course thy see the patches, they told us to do the repairs, we feel this is a way to avoid awarding us the monies we need to replace our roof, they have a copy of the roofer's proposal and his findings, we are so afraid if another storm hits, the whole entire shingles on the roof will blow off, and more water will come into our homeresulting in ruining our furniture and ceilings.
