Late Borrowers Locked Out of Website and Phone Payments, Charged Extra

If a customer is late in paying Cendant Mortgage (now PHH), not only does the company charge exorbitant fees, it locks the customer out so that payment is impossible by phone and the customer can't logon to the company website to get info or obtain mortgage assistance. (The website invalidates login info and, when re-registering, misrepresents that the customer's SSN doesn't match their loan #.) The only option to pay (once one is late) is through discourteous collections reps at an increased payment fee. Company reps can be very rude, unhelpful, evasive, intentionally misleading, and preachy. This company is unbearable to deal with and takes advantage if a customer is even one month late.

I can't begin to explain the fraud associated with the PMI (mortgage insurance) - requirements that change every time I inquire and that seemingly violate applicable state law in my state.

I strongly urge people not to engage with Cendant Mortgage (now PHH).
