Consumer First
The card only to order items from their catalogue, a cash deposit made to place an order RipOff victimized many consumers

Business & Finance

I received a letter from Consumer First regarding credit repair. They offered a $5000 limit and zero percent interest for one year, for a $45 processing fee (or $49 for rush service). Thinking we could transfer some accounts, my husband and I decided to send it a check. That was in early February.

On March 3, I received a large white envelope, which contained a thick catalogue, an order form, and a silver-colored plastic card with my name on it, and the words "Platinum Card" printed on it. According to the order form, the card is to be used to order items from the catalogue; a cash deposit must be made in order to place an order. The catalogue items are things like blown glass, fake swords, watches, etc.

This was not what was offered. No financial information was sent, although it was promised in the original letter. I sent a personal check in the mail - I will contact my bank and see if there will be a need for me to close my checking account.
