Fifth Third Bank
Ripped me off on overdraft fees

Business & Finance

So heres what happened... I put my check in the bank on saturday, I already had 227 and change in the bank. Over the weekend I used my debit card, had charges in the amount of 157.04 deducted on monday. I also had charges of 122.33 pending. Well instead of my check being available it was on hold until monday nite into tuesday morn. So they decided that because my pending (which doesnt even post until a couple days later) put me in the negative, that they would charge me 296 dollars as soon as my check poted in overdraft fees. Which I just think is rediculous. I mean come on I didnt have money in the bank on monday bcuz it was on hold but the same nite/morning my check comes off hold they can take half of it in overdraft fees.

Also had they kept deducting my pendings out of my account down the line instead of dividing my posted and pendings into two catagories after the 157.04 came out I stil had a little over 69 dollars in there I would have 4 less overdrwns which means 4 less overfraft charges.instead the added the two together and came out with eight overdrawns. What a RIPOFF!!! So I do not like them at all. Here it is the holidays and I am laid off, and they have taken the monet I have to live on. Also in my online report my actual balance was never negative because half of my overdrawns were still pending. They did not clear until 2-3 days later! I dont think they should be able to charge you when your balance never goes negative but your available does. Plus I put my check in for a reason... To cover me!!! Duh!!!
