Closed my account too

I too just received a letter stating that my account was being cancelled/terminated. I have been with them for approx 3 years - paid on time - paid extra always - even pd the account off once. I too called the number on the letter and was told that ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS were being terminated. I was concerned that this will show on my credit report but they assured be it would not as long as I kept making my payments until the account was paid off. The letter stated NO NEW CHARGES WILL BE ALLOWED after Jan 8. I will be curious to see if the acct maintenance fee will continue to be posted to my acct - to me that is a new charge. All I know is THIS ISN'T RIGHT
