Somebody Up There Loves My Bank Acct Direct TV Swipes Money From My Account

I have read multiple reports here about Direct TV making unauthorized debits from bank accounts and the same just happened to me. They hopped into my account using a debit card that I had made a payment with about 8 months back and and took $960.00 without my consent or knowledge. I had no intention of cancelling my service, just never had the money to pay the bill. I called Direct TV and explained this so they re instated service and I now have a $780.00 credit with them. I asked for that to be applied to the same card that they had taken it off of, but that has yet to happen. Does anyone know if they ever reimburse credits or do I need to go to my local bank and sign a formal affidavit and let them handle it. I was told today that it would be 8 more days to get that refund credited back to my card. I am sure 8 days from now that will not happen from what I am reading here. I mean, this is my money that they are holding, not theirs.
Any ideas that might lead me in the right direction? Thanks.
