Repeat of similar scam letters

Received a letter stating that we had won $57,000 through a randomly drawn computerized ballot. They sent us a check in the amount of $3962.55 to cover administrative taxes and Clearance fees. Seems like that would be the amount taken out. We were to call the agent, Teresa Jones. Skeptically, we did so. She stated that there were no strings attached, that we must have entered an on-line drawing and that we had won second place. We were instructed to bank the check, wait until it cleared, and then call the agent back. She, along with a tax advisor, would then explain how we needed to accept the remaining balance. They would then send the check, for 57000-3962, via UPS and delivered to our door. After a brief research on the computer, found that this letter had been sent to others and that they were getting bank account numbers after the check had been deposited. The address is from Illinois, yet the phone number's area code is out of Canada. There was no return address on the envelope. We will call the agent back to let them know the information we have learned. Please be aware that this may be a scam. Be carefull!!
