I replied to a letter, notifying me that I was selected as a canidate for a personal loan

I responded to a letter notifying me that I had been selected as a candidate for a personal loan. At the time, I was struggling financially with bills and this seemed like a blessing just when I needed it. I completed the application and faxed the paperwork back. Anxious, to hear about further information, I called and then the answering machine for this company came on and I left a message.

After a few days of faxing this information, I received an three-page agreement form and it requested $70.00 for the fee. I was not understanding the information as much so I called again and left a message and received a call back from Steve, I believe was the name. He called me back and explained everything to me and said that once they received my paperwork back, that I would receive a call and that it would take about 10-14 days to receive my check after all paperwork was completed. He stated to me what my loan payments would be and everything. I was so relieved and excited to know that I would be getting a loan that I would not have to pay such a high interest rate on. I mailed the paperwork and moneyorder and have not heard anything back yet. I left a message but no response. This is when I thought something was wrong because everytime that I called, I had to leave a message and then he would return my call and nobody never answered the phone personnally. I think that my husband and I was just a victim of fraud and did not even know it.

From now on, we are going to check all companies through the Better Business Bureau. We were just taken advantage of at our lowest point in life, thinking that was for the good and a change was coming but that was not the case. We would like to file a suit against this company or person and hope that this does not happen to anyone else. We would be glad to provide any helpful information that we can so that this person/persons can be stopped. Help us do this because we know that we are not the only victims of this fraud. Why must people prey on those that are financially in need. This puts me even further into debt. Thank You.
