United Cash Loans
Ripped off on interest charges, ignored request to pay loan in full ripoff

Business & Finance

A few months ago my Mom lost her job and she helped me with my bills so we got a little behind and I decided to request an online payday loan. I read all the paperwork and I fully understood how it worked. I got one loan for $200 and had to pay back $260 from my next paycheck, if I did not have the full $250 I could pay the $60 interest but on my next paycheck I had to pay the $260 again. I paid that loan fine without a problem but then I later requested a loan for $350 and the interest on that one would be $455 and the following is why I feel I'm being ripped off.

I did not want to pay $105 in interest to them every two weeks so I made sure I had the $455 in my checking account to pay the loan in full when it was due. I called the customer service phone number and after verifying my personal information told the customer rep I wanted to pay my loan in full on the due date, I called 5 days before the loan was due because they tell you it has to be requested and signed and confirmed that they had received it at least 3 business days before the loan is due.

The paperwork was sent to my email address, I downloaded it and signed it and emailed it back within 20 minutes. I emailed it three times, I waited 1 hour as I had been told and called to make sure they received it. I was told they had not received it yet. I sent it again and I went out and also faxed it.

Long story short, I sent the paperwork about six times in those two days and I finally confirmed it was received on a Wednesday which still was three business days before loan was due.

On Monday which is when my paycheck goes into my checking account UnitedCash had just deducted the $105 and not the $455 they were supposed to. When I called I was told the paperwork was not received in time, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told one would call me back, I never received a call. I called again and after a lot of arguing and no help and asked for the paperwork again but was sent the wrong paperwork so they took the $105 again this pay period.

I sent the paperwork the same way I did when I asked for the loan so how do they get that but not when you want to pay it off? I feel they are doing this to get more interest out of me and I refuse to pay anymore money to them. I live in New York State, what can I do short of closing my bank account? I will close it if I have to but rather not. Can I ask my bank to do a chargeback on the $210 they have taken from me? Any help would be appreciated.
