Triad Financial Corporations - Threatened to send my account to IRS and another collection agency

Due to financial hardship and sporadic income, repaying my $500.00 a month auto loan w/17% interest became difficult. Ultimately, my vehicle was repo'd.

Triad did not notify me of the date, time or venue of the sale. They contact me via mail notifying me that the vehicle was sold for $5,600.00 leaving me a balance of almost $17,000. No proof of sale, etc.

Received a collection call from Harriet (817.605.4846) to verify receipt of settlement offer, etc. Having been harassed by Triad prior to the repossession, I declined phone contact, and requested to be contacted via postal mail.

Harriet advised me that my account would be sent to the IRS and to an outside collection agency.

Bogus threats of this kind need to be reported. Therefore, I will notify, and advise you too, to notify the:

Additionally, I was advised by the FTC to stop creditors from calling you, send them a notarized Cease and Desist letter; certified mail with return receipt request. They can only contact you once after they receive the letter. At that time you verify that the received the letter.
