Wachovia Dealer Services
Wachovia Dealer Services - Harrassment, Unprofessional Practices

Business & Finance

I financed my car (new) in March with WFS which became Wachovia Dealer Services. One year ago I was unemployed and had just returned to work. My loan was 2 mos overdue and I was afraid they would take my car even though I got no calls or threatening letters. I called them and explained the situation and they allowed me to re-structure my payments (putting the most recent payment at the end of the loan) and catching up the over-due payments. At that time they were friendly, understanding, and helpful. I was thankful that my creditors were willing to wait a few weeks to allow me to get caught up so that I could start the new position without the anxiety of possible repossession.

Obviously the customer service department has been restructured and they've begun to hire those who have no idea how to do business. Until recently I have not heard from them. Lately, my payments have been a few days late (I pay on-line and it may be after the due date of the 18th). Beginning on the 18th I receive calls on my home, work, and cell-phone from various numbers (some local and some 800) with messages from obviously uneducated, non-professional representatives with different numbers to call them back.

Normally, I do not return their calls because I pay them within a few days. However, once I did tell Shakiesha that her calling me every day was not going to make the payment come any sooner. She replied that she doesn't call me every day, she calls me every other day. After I continued to explain how unprofessional and ridiculously uneducated she sounded, she hung up on me. Another time I spoke with her, she called on a Sunday and I had previously made the payment. She became angry when I asked her why she was calling and hadn't checked her system first. She demanded the transaction number which I gave her, then she hung up on me. I suppose I have made my point with her, because now I have another unprofessional csr calling me - leaving messages on my voice-mail which sounds more like he's requesting a date rather than making a payment.

Today, I had a fascinating idea. Calling them every day - twice a day - at all of their numbers to tell them the payment was made. I wonder if they would like to be constantly called by paying customers just to "remind" them that they've made their payments. Since they call us non-stop when we're late, I wonder how they would feel if we call them the other 29 days of the month just to say we've paid.
