Credit card pitch

I was called by a person stating himself to be Richard Header of National Associated Credit Services. Asked for account # over the phone.

I received a phone call by a person stating his name to be Richard Header. He told me I had been approved for a $2500 credit card at a fixed interest rate of 5.6%. He stated that my credit history would not be checked as the company he worked for aimed to assist people with bad credit regain good credit (How did he know I had bad Credit needing fixed!).

He then asked for my bank account number so he could process the card. I asked him where he was calling from to which he replied, St. Pete, Florida. He informed me that the customer service number for the company was (727) 384-4267. When asked how I could verify he was who he said he asked if I had caller ID to which I replied yes. I asked him to call me back in a couple of minutes so that I could verify the number he was calling from. He did so. The same number (727-287-3414) did show up on my caller ID. I informed him there was no name listed as to where the number was coming from and asked if they had a web site.

I was sitting at my computer at the time. He informed me the web site address was nacscredit.com. I asked him to hold on for another moment while I attempted to open the web page. I then informed him that a message came up stating there was no such web site. He told me they were having some difficulties and the page would be back on line shortly. I informed him that if this were so I would have received a message stating the web page was down rather than nonexistent. At this time he hung up on me.
