Almost lost it all

I recieved a check by mail for $2,990.070 which was very real. Along with a letter saying a home improvement grant in the amount of 39,000.00 had been deposited into an escrow account pending claim. All I had to do was call a number, speak to Don Paul or Leslie Snow and activate my check. I cash the check I recieved and I will recieve the second check in the amount of 37,050.00 within 3 to 5 business days. The first check is to cover the necessary fees and taxes for this claim. This was very tempting but I cant afford to lose what little i do have. Got on the internet and there it was! I was right, its a total scam. Hope these people get caught soon.
