Sucked into a mortgage we could not afford, pushed into forclosure

In mid 2007 my son was diagnosed with kawasaki disease which forced him to stay in the hospital for two weeks, needless to say both my wife and i had to take some time off work and after this difficult period we where yet again in trouble when my wife was involved in a car accident which once again forced her to take time off work. This put us in a financial struggle.

We fell behind on all of our bills, creating an unbelievable amount of debt. We contacted EMC mortgage and made them aware of the situation. The agreed to help, by saying that aslong as we kept up with our payments for three months we would not be sent into forclosure due to late payments accumilated in a three month period. They would simply re-adjust our loan and throw the three overdue months into the back of our loan.

We maintained our end of the bargain, but now they say that we owe the total amount for those past three months. We no longer qualify for the orinigal deal. With no real reason as to why, it seems they wish to solve everything by just pushing us into forclosure.

It is nearly impossible for us to afford paying neary 7,000 dollars with in a months period. My family and i are trying to keep our heads above water finding it to be more difficult every day, we need help.
