Citi Residential Lending/Ameriquest
Over appraised our home by $50000.00

Ameriquest over appraised our home and now we upside down on our mortgage and can't refinance with anyone. We were behind on our payments and a forbarence aggreement that we could not afford and it cost us $1200.00 to set that up.

We paid them almost $4000.00 in July of 07 and could not make the forbarence payment. When the company changed to Citi we received a notice of that which was in error so they sent us another notice.

We had requested a payoff from Citi because we were looking at refinancing with a local bank which we were unable to because of the appraisal.

Believe it or not we have not received anything from Citi since. It is now Feb. 29th and the last thing we got from them was the payoff report. We have never gotton a statement from Citi. It has about 7 months with no contact. I guess I figured they were so messed up that our mortgage papaerwork was lost.

Well, yesterday we received a letter from their attorney to initiate forclosure preceedings. I am not sure what to do now.

I was going to contact Citi and see if we could have them appraise our home and we could start over. I am not sure what to do with this.
